2006 POND TOUR
|
HOME #10 Chad & Eileen Casella, Belchertown, Ma Chad & Eileen built their first pond just outside their bedroom so they could enjoy the sounds of the flowers, the fish, and the wildlife that shares their backyard. This 2 yr old backyard pond is 11' x 16' x 3'D. If you walk up quietly to the backyard you might just catch wild turkeys walking around in the backyard or drinking from the pond. I was fortunate to see about 10 of them when I went. Ten the casellas built a 6' x 6' x 3'D in their living room to over winter their beloved fish. The inside pond looks as if they built the house on the pond. They are now building a deck which will have a third pond fed by a bubbling stream.

HOME #11 Ken & Linda Snow, Belchertown, Ma Another beautiful home with a smaller pond near the front walkway by the light post. In the backyard is a professional built 12' x 20' pond with a 6' x 7' upper with a 30' brook. Surrounding the pond it is beautifully landscaped with perennials and look around in the mulch for stepping stones made by their 6 grandkids of their footprints. The pond is lit for night time enjoyment and a fire pit to keep you warm.

There is a Tiki, US and Hawaiian Flag and 8" Hawaiian figurine dancers along with music from rock speakers that look and sound real nice. This is a 1 yr professional built 16'x 20' pond that has a stream with a bridge. There are cranes and a fisherman and other various statues. The pond is lit at night along with tiki torches surrounding it. The pond has dwarf pampas, cattails, cannas, iris, zebra rush, red stem lizard's tail to name a few.
