2006 POND TOUR

HOME  #4

Robert & Diane Willitts, Wilbraham, Ma

Another beautiful landscaped yard, Diane is a Master Gardener.  In the backyard is an 8yr old 15'x8' handmade pond that has 5 large Koi and several smaller ones.  Many are butterfly.  Umbrella palm, papyrus and many irises.  A waterfall was added two years ago along with many of the surrounding plants.  There is a small bog at one end that holds pitcher plants, some Bloody Dock and a bullfrog.  Bob has built a pergola, small bridge, and a dock near the pond that adds to the atmosphere.  Because of its close proximity to the house, the pond can be viewed from inside as well.   There are numerous flower gardens, an herb garden and garden architecture on the property.  Look for ladies head hanging planter with creeping jenny hanging as hair and one on the ground.  6' Pyramid made out of Trex and Copper with clematis growing up it.

HOME  #5

Greg Sapere & Linda Lastoff, Wilbraham, Ma

This is a "Backyard Oasis" and is a "Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat".  A professional built 14' x 14' x 5' pond off a patio and an in ground swimming pool.  As you walk up the backyard by the perennial beds you come to another professional built 20' x 45' pond with a 10,000 gph waterfall that is built off the slope of the backyard.  This looks so natural and ahhhh.  As you look around you will see a greenhouse, gazebo, arbor garden paths, vegetable gardens, perennials, culinary herbs, and medicinal herbs.  You will also see 3 bronze sculptures.  1st - children fishing, 2nd - fountain of boy fishing and 3rd - girl reading a book.  There is a studio at the top of the hill in the backyard.

HOME  #6

Chris & Deb Peters, Wilbraham, Ma

As you walk up the driveway you are greeted by a beautiful home with a front yard pond.  This 5yr old professional built pond is 9' x 16' with double falls.  Water hyacinth and different varieties of water lilies in this pond.  Home to various size Koi.  Check out the headless fisherman.  This pond has lights for night time enjoyment.
